Ryan Tubridy reportedly set to wed Dr Clare Kambamettu this weekend
Ryan Tubridy with Dr Clare Kambamettu.Ryan Tubridy has discreetly returned to Ireland this weekend ahead of his upcoming wedding to fiancée Dr Clare Kambamettu.The couple were seen in Clifden, Co Galway, where Tubridy's cousins Brian and Ronan Hughes operate the renowned Abbeyglen Castle Hotel, the Irish Independent reports. The former RTE broadcaster is taking time off from his Virgin Radio position in London next week, with DJ Emma B stepping in to present his programmes.On Saturday, he shared a brief video clip of himself strolling along Dun Laoghaire pier with the message: "The sun is on its way." A Virgin Radio UK insider told the Irish Independent that Tubridy has been openly discussing the news with workmates: "Ryan has been telling people he's getting married this weekend."Tubridy revealed his engagement earlier this year following O'Dálaigh Jewellers in Clifden's disclosure that he had bought a ring for a "very special lady". He proposed along the Atlantic coastline, with the pair celebrating the milestone at nearby hotels, reports the Irish Mirror.During his radio show at the time, he stated: "I've been keeping a little bit of news to myself... I'm very happy to confirm I did get engaged to my partner Clare in the west of Ireland."He characterised the experience as uplifting, noting it made the world feel "lighter". She proudly showed it off as well-wishers extended their congratulations.Dr Kambamettu, a clinical psychologist hailing from Athy, Co Kildare, trained in London and shot to national fame in 2010 after clinching both the London Rose title and later the Rose of Tralee. Tubridy also has his own connections to the festival, having hosted it in 2003 and 2004.His romantic history includes a five-year relationship with former Rose of Tralee winner Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin, and he was previously married to broadcaster Anne Marie Power, with whom he has two daughters, Ella and Julia.The couple were last seen together publicly at the Irish Post Awards in London.
