Putin says ‘ready to fight’ Europe before meeting Trump envoy
Vladimir Putin has warned that Russia is “ready” to go to war with Europe before sitting down for talks with US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner at the Kremlin.
Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he was waiting for “signals” from the US delegation and was ready to meet Mr Trump, adding that there should be “no games played behind Ukraine’s back”.
On the battlefield, Russia today claimed to have fully captured the towns of Pokrovsk and Vovchansk – although those claims were denied by Kyiv.
