Women and girls’ ‘lives are at stake’ in UK, report warns
The mother of Sarah Everard – who was raped and murdered by a former Metropolitan police officer four years ago – has said she lives in a state of “sadness, rage and panic”.
Susan Everard’s statement came as Lady Angiolini published the second part of her report into violence against women and girls.
She said she was still worried about women’s safety in public places and urged politicians and police chiefs to take action now, warning “there are lives at stake”.
