The world's dirtiest city has been revealed - and it's been criticised for having crumbling buildings and rubbish on the streets.Budapest has been labelled the world’s dirtiest city.The Hungarian capital tops the list as Europe’s dirtiest city, with more than 37.9 per cent of cleanliness-related reviews describing dirt or poor upkeep.Reports online by visitors and tourists of dirtiness in the city have suggested it is unkempt.One Reddit user wrote: 'Why is there so much rubbish and junk from peoples houses out on the streets of Budapest?!'They added: 'Seems like a free for all! People scavenging for anything and everything. I have never seen this before.'Users in the comments explained that in the city, each section of each district has a date each year where the council will collect belongings that are no longer wanted. They added: 'In the inner districts where tourists roam, this can be an eyesore.' After Budapest, cities such as Rome, Paris and Florence, where ancient sites and high tourist levels are expected, cleanliness seems a bigger challenge.Italy has the biggest cleanliness problem overall, according to the research from Radical Storage.Rome came in second place in the ranking of dirties cities, with 35.7 per cent of reviews being negative.Taking the third spot was Las Vegas, with 31.6 per cent of cleanliness-related reviews being negative.Coming fourth was Florence, with 29.6 per cent of reviews being negative. Other reports from visitors, for instance on online forum, echo this complaint, with one TripAdvisor review saying: 'Budapest is beautiful but old and kind of dirty!' Of all countries, Italy has the most cities appearing among the world’s dirtiest, with four historic centres - Rome, Florence, Milan and Verona - all ranking within the top 10 for the highest proportion of negative cleanliness reviews.The new study from Radical Storage analysed more than 70,000 Google reviews of the top 10 attractions across 100 cities in Euromonitor’s Top City Destinations Index.It then determined which cities rank the highest and lowest for cleanliness. Online reviews from the past twelve months were scanned for words such as ‘clean’ and ‘dirty’ to measure which cities are most frequently praised or criticised.
