Man found dead in flat and phone box taped off as murder investigation launched
A phone box in Bucknall New Road, Hanley, has been taped upA murder investigation has been launched after a man was found dead in a city centre flat.Officers were called to the apartment after paramedics found the man unresponsive.He was confirmed dead at the scene in Linfield Road, Stoke-on-Trent, at around 9.30pm last night (November 12).A cordon was put in place in the are as detectives began their inquires. At a nearby street, a phone box was found wrapped in blue sheeting as part of a forensic examination of the area.Staffordshire Police are also working to trace the man's relatives, reports StokeonTrentLive.Meanwhile, a 56-year-old man, of Stoke-on-Trent, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken into custody for questioning.A force spokesman said: "We were called to a flat on Linfield Road, Hanley, at about 9.30pm last night following a report made to colleagues by West Midlands Ambulance Service to say a man was unresponsive inside the address. Paramedics attended and found a man unresponsive inside. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene."We’re working hard to track down the man’s family so that specialist officers can support them at this difficult time.
